A game that Gooners will never forget

There is something particularly intoxicating about scoring twice in a few minutes

It breaks my heart that I never got to go to Highbury with him by my side.

As late as 2005, I often felt that it was Arsenal and me against the world.

This time my emotions were very different

It was BBC Radio 2 in those days, mixing live coverage with reporters at different events

The fog-shrouded streets around Arsenal Stadium were deserted

“You can support anyone you like as long as it’s not Tottenham”

A hugely likeable bloke, with a big heart

In those days it felt there was a definite ‘frontline’ between the two clubs

The aroma of onions from the hotdog and burger stalls, the programme sellers, the banter

I remember being sick to my stomach at lunch at home that day
