We have a fantastic, passionate fanbase made up of really smart people who say something new after our games.
Here are interviews with some of the great Arsenal fans who make up our Gooner community to find out the origins of their support.
What made them fall in love with the Gunners and who has stood out when wearing the famous red and white?
Sol Campbell (SolManOfficial) joined Arsenal in 2001 in one of the biggest shocks in football transfer history. He went on to win two FA Cups and two Premier League titles, the second as part of the legendary ‘Invincibles.’
Mike Feinberg (@TheGoonersPod) lives the Arsenal fan dream, mixing with players, podcasters and bloggers and owning a flat in Highbury despite living much of his life in the US. The co-founder of The Gooners Podcast, he also fundraises through @GoonersVCancer.
Ben Winston (@benwinston) is one of the most successful producers in television. He was the executive producer of The Late Late Show with James Corden and also produced Friends: The Reunion as well as music specials for the likes of One Direction, Adele, and the official music video and documentary for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with Gary Barlow.
Nigel Mitchell (@MrNigelMitchell) started his presenting career with Nickelodeon and The Disney Channel and has worked for Arsenal since 2008, presenting the Matchday Show in front of over 60,000 people for every home fixture at Emirates Stadium as well events and videos for the club and their global partners.
Sarah Lewis OLY (@SarahLewis_OBE) is is a British former international alpine skier who competed in the 1988 Winter Olympic Games and then became Secretary General of skiing governing body, FIS, a role she held for 20 years.
Gale Anne Hurd (@GunnerGale) is one of the entertainment industry's most esteemed producers. She co-wrote and produced The Terminator and followed that with Aliens, The Abyss, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and Armageddon.
Gooner Gossip Soph (@tv_gooner) runs the Gooner Gossip TV YouTube channel and is a passionate supporter of Arsenal.
Simon Harris (@simonharris_mbd) is a blogger and social media influencer who has helped under-privileged children get food and raised almost a quarter of a million pounds for a new RNLI lifeboat.
Actor and journalist Tom Watt has appeared on Eastenders as well as Talksport, Arsenal TV and BT Sport. He has written a number of sports books including ‘The End’ about the North Bank at Highbury and ‘Arsenal And After’ with Paul Davis.
Adrian Clarke (@adrianjclarke) made his Arsenal debut in 1994 and made nine appearances before becoming an esteemed sports journalist who also appears on Arsenal’s Breakdown Live each match day.
Peter Høst (@Peterhoest) is the Vice President for @ArsenalDenmark and is also a member of the Arsenal Fans' Forum, providing valuable input into how the club interacts with the fans.
Phil Costa (@_PhilCosta) Is Content Editor for OneFootball as well as a regular contributor to Arseblog, analysing players and also appears on the Arseblog Arsecast and Arsenal Vision Podcast.
Johnny Cochrane (@iJohnnyCochrane) is the voice of MTV UK and co-host of the #ArsenalOpinion podcast with Pedro aka Le Grove as well as previously co-hosting the official Arsenal nation podcast.
Michael Timbs (@MichaelTimbs) started his career at COPA90, where he spent five years as a content creator and writer before setting up his own channel and working with Arsenal on a regular basis.
Simon Collings (@sr_collings) covers Arsenal for the Evening Standard and watched Arsenal at Highbury for the first time when Tony Adams scored that left-foot volley against Everton that capped the title-winning season in 1998.
Paul Cassidy AKA P.I.M.P. (@PoznanInMyPants) is a regular on the Arsenal Vision podcast, where he is renowned for his irreverent observations (toothpaste sales have rocketed!).
Ryan Hunn (@ryanhunn) is one of the founders of Stadio alongside Musa Okwonga, a must-listen podcast now on Ringer FC which also features Wrighty’s House with Arsenal legend Ian Wright.
Chris Toronyi (@christoronyi) is a marketing lecturer at Emerson College Boston and also produced and hosted the ArseAmerica Podcast.
Jill Armstrong (@touchofpowder) had little choice but to support Arsenal. Her father is the legendary Arsenal winger George ‘Geordie’ Armstrong, who made over 600 appearances for the club and later became a coach.
Dave Seager aka @GoonerDave66 has written four books about Arsenal. He is a fan columnist for The Sun and co-owns the Gunnerstown blog.
Amanda Schiavi aka Princess Gooner (@GoonerGirl1969) has been an Arsenal season ticket holder for nearly 45 years and appeared on a wide range of podcasts including The Gooners Girls Podcast and the The Highbury Squad podcast.
Andrew Mangan, (@Arseblog) is one of the original Arsenal bloggers with almost 20 years of writing and talking about Arsenal under his belt.
Ian Stone (@iandstone) is one of the UK’s leading comedians, appearing at The Comedy Store and on a wide range of radio and television shows including “The Football’s On” and the Arsenal podcast “Handbrake Off” for The Athletic.
Scott Willis (@oh_that_crab) has been following Arsenal for more than a decade and regularly appears on the Arsenal Vision Podcast talking stats and matches.
Amy Lawrence (@amylawrence71) started her writing career with The Gooner fanzine and after many years with the Guardian and the Observer, covering the game from grassroots to World Cup finals, she joined The Athletic in 2019.
Layth Yousif (@Laythy29) has been covernig Arsenal for years, working for the Islington Gazette, Football.London and now as the editor of the long-standing Arsenal fanzine, The Gooner.
James McNicholas (@Gunnerblog) has been writing about Arsenal for more than a decade, perhaps best known as an Arsenal correspondent for The Athletic and also a regular on the Arseblog Arsecasts.
Clive Palmer (@Clivepafc) is a contributor to the Arsenal Vision podcast, where he shares his tactical acumen and understanding of the game and is also the Director of Football at Barton Rovers.
Evan Cooper (@Lacazest) is one of the most positive Arsenal fans on Twitter. Now based in Wisconsin in the U.S., he was raised in Périgueux in south west France and also spent time living in London during his nomadic life.
Rob Bateman (@Orbinho) is Head of Opta Data Editorial but best known as one of the pioneers of football data that has now become integral in the supporting life of many fans.
