Competition - win 'The Last Game': Anfield '89 - love, death and football

Today marks 20 years since that famous Friday night at Anfield.

I remember sitting in front of the television with my Dad, watching the clock wind down, asking him why, oh why, Arsenal couldn’t win the title for a change.

I wasn’t around in ’71, so it was a pivotal moment for me.

Even now, the hairs stand up on the back of my neck and the eyes start welling up when I see that clip of Michael Thomas storming through the midfield or of Brian Moore’s commentary.

It’s fitting that Arsenal’s next generation are playing at Anfield tonight, but let’s hope on this occasion, the favourites win and Steve Bould’s Young Guns bring home the FA Youth Cup.

Either way, Addict has three copies of Jason Cowley’s excellent new book, ‘The Last Game’ featuring interviews with the players and an analysis of how that game changed the face of football forever.

To be in with a chance of winning, simply answer the following question:

Who were the two Arsenal substitutes who came on at Anfield?

Please send your answers to:

UK Addicts only please.

Later this week, Addict will contact the three winners and arrange delivery of their copies of the book.

Good luck!
