Former Arsenal full back and BBC football pundit, Lee Dixon believes even if the club could tap into Alisher Usmanov's vast wealth, gaffer Arsene Wenger would be unlikely to match the likes of Chelsea or Manchester City in paying over the odds for talent.
Dixon was answering questions submitted by a number of Addicts during the launch of the I AM PLAYR online football game, for which he is a script and storyline contributor. To access the game visit the I AM PLAYR facebook page.
Dixon also talked about his thoughts on the future of players such as Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, who he would like to see brought in to strengthen the squad and the unlikely Gunner who was the best player he'd ever faced in a training match (for one game only).
I AM PLAYR puts you in the boots of a professional player at River Park FC, allowing you to experience the life of a footballer, through the eyes of a footballer. Players have to balance both sides of the modern footballer’s life. Their challenge is to be the best they can on the pitch by training hard to develop their skills and earn the respect of their peers, whilst off the pitch building their profile and earnings by navigating the maze of endorsement deals, appearance opportunities and glamorous parties.
I AM PLAYR is in the final stages of Beta testing and has already attracted over 200,000 monthly users. Nike is I AM PLAYR’s Principal Brand Partner, Ginsters is the shirt sponsor for River Park FC and Alfa Romeo is the club’s official sponsor.
