If every player has a price, what should Arsenal expect for Cesc Fabregas?

It's only five weeks until the new Premier League football season kicks off and with most teams now reporting back from their summer holidays, the transfer market will start to heat up.

In theory the current global recession was supposed to make this summer one of the quietest on record, but the ambitions of Real Madrid have changed all that by smashing the record books first with the capture of Kaka and then by landing Cristiano Ronaldo.

Those deals, along with the megabucks offers being made by the likes of Manchester City, have artificially inflated the prices of players to the extent that Arsenal's skipper Cesc Fabregas has reportedly had a £40 million price tag put on his head by the club.

But I'm skeptical about that figure. Personally I would not like to see Cesc sold at all - no matter what the offers that Barcelona or Real Madrid come up with. In reality I believe Arsenal would probably accept £30 million for our skipper, using at least some of the cash to fund the purchase of someone who could take on the mantle of club captain.

I'd like to think that I'm wrong, but only time will tell. So in the meantime I thought I'd ask you lot what you reckon would be an acceptable price for Cesc Fabregas. Click on the 'read more' link below to access our poll - it'll be heartening if the majority of you go for the final answer...
