The news that Samir Nasri has broken his leg could galvanise Arsene Wenger into spending some of the reported £25 million he received from Man City for Emmanuel Adebayor, but just where do you think he should target the money?
So far, Le Gaffer has bolstered the back line with the capture of Ajax captain Thomas Vermaelen, but we have lost our most prolific striker over the past two seasons and now Nasri has become the first major injury of the season before he's even kicked a ball.
I'm guessing that the majority of you will opt for a defensive midfielder as the player we most need to sign. And it shouldn't be forgotten that Nasri himself was asked to play in that position more than once latterly last season, so Wenger obviously knows it's a role where his team needs more strength.
But Nasri's injury should also ring alarm bells that such incidents can happen to any player at any time and the long term absence of any of our central defenders or another striker could be very detrimental indeed. A few months without the likes of Cesc Fabregas or Andrey Arshavin doesn't bear thinking about.
Last night saw Phillipe Senderos back in an Arsenal shirt for the first time in over a year and his return from AC Milan does give us another option, but Wenger says the player is trying to figure out his future and there are offers on the table, so it doesn't look like Le Boss has the big Swiss defender in his plans.
