According to the BBC, Arsenal's squad for the game against Manchester United tonight is: Almunia, Sagna, Toure, Djourou, Gibbs, Nasri, Song, Fabregas, Walcott, van Persie, Adebayor, Fabianski, Denilson, Silvestre, Diaby, Eboue, Bendtner, Ramsey.
However, being the Addict that I am, I watched the training footage of the first team squad at London Colney yesterday morning and I must report that there were a few surprises among the Arsenal players preparing for tonight's game.
The good news ahead of this evening is that Robin van Persie has passed a fitness test and is almost certain to start up front alongside Nicklas Bendtner or, more likely, Emmanuel Adebayor.
But one surprise from yesterday's training session was the inclusion of Eduardo. Arsene Wenger last week said that the Crozilian striker was out for the remainder of the season, but if that's the case, you have to wonder why he was training with his team mates if he has a groin problem. Wenger mind games perhaps?!
The other surprise faces among the first team squad were defender Kyle Bartley and midfielder Amaury Bischoff. However, given that Andrey Arshavin was also involved and is ineligible for action tonight, the youngsters' inclusion may just have been to build confidence rather than anything else.
Unfortunately it looks as if Mikael Silvestre might be fit. I am not his biggest fan, but then if you saw the Sky Sports interview with him last week, it would appear that Silvestre's biggest fan is Silvestre himself, given the shrine he has built to himself in his house.
But I digress. Tonight's game is the biggest that we'll have seen to date at Emirates Stadium and your task is to argue the point about team selection.
As usual, leave your thoughts using our comments facility below. For the record, here's who I'd like to see starting for the Gunners tonight:
Sagna Toure Djourou Gibbs
Eboue Fabregas Song Nasri
Subs: Fabianski, Silvestre, Diaby, Ramsey, Denilson, Walcott, Bendtner
