Here we are then. May - the prelude to the most boring time of the year: the closed season.
With nothing other than pride to play for on Sunday, the Gunners entertain Stoke, but I reckon it could be a fantastic atmosphere at Emirates Stadium as the fans voice their approval for Arsene Wenger once again committing his future to The Arsenal.
Of course there are a number of fans who would rather see Le Gaffer move on, but I've still to hear one (sensible) suggestion of whom they'd have replace him and who they truly believe could get more out of our existing squad and the meagre resources the club has for transfers. So hopefully those fans - and they are entitled to their opinions, even though they are 100% wrong - will be left in no doubt as to what the vast majority of Gooners want: Wenger to stay and fulfil his legacy.
It looks as if we'll also be cheering on an untried keeper against Stoke as Vito Mannone could be promoted to a first team start with Manuel Almunia definitely out with an ankle problem and Lukasz Fabianski struggling with a knee problem.
Also set to miss the game with a knee injury is Samir Nasri, so that might clear the way for Carlos Vela to start on the flank and perhaps elevate another youngster into the squad for the season's final game.
Assuming that Mannone will be in goal, I reckon we'll need the strongest back four we can muster, which has to be the same quartet who started against Man United last week, namely Bacary Sagna, Kolo Toure, Alex Song and Kieran Gibbs.
In midfield I'd like to see Denilson, Cesc Fabregas, Aaron Ramsey and Carlos Vela starting, although Theo Walcott instead of Vela is more probable, while up front I'm inclined to think Andrey Arshavin will support Robin van Persie again.
Tradition usually sees the team coming out to thank the fans after the final whistle and on Sunday it'll be interesting to gauge Emmanuel Adebayor's reactions as it appears likely we're in for another summer of discontent from the under-achieving Togo striker. Personally I think he's played his last game in an Arsenal shirt and is that is the case, I hope he gets a move sooner rather than later so Le Boss can concentrate on bringing in a replacement.
Anyhoo, I'll share my prefered starting line up with you below, so let your fellow Addicts know who you'd start against Stoke here using our comments facility.
