At last, some good news for Gooners

The absence of Manu Adebayor with a 'groin strain' last week, which came out of the blue, seems to suggest that his time at the club is over.

Gone is the desperate-to-impress young forward who joined us from Monaco and in his place is a lazy swaggerer who believes one good season defines greatness.

Arsene Wenger has as good as blamed Adebayor's antics last summer for contributing to the unsettling and disappointing start to the season which put us out of the title race before it had begun.

So it is fantastic news for all Gooners that, despite hardly breaking sweat in recent months, Adebayor is still being courted by AC Milan.

Their owned and Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi said last night: "There is a good chance that we can get Adebayor."

The fact that Milan still want the Togo forward suggests Berlusconi's hair dye has affected his sight, but if we can get anything north of £18m for him, we should bite their hands off.

Farewell Ade - don't darken our stadium ever again.
