Arsenal cruised to an easy 2-0 win over a Manchester City side that looked as if they'd only turned up to make up the numbers.
In doing so, the Gunners increased their unbeaten Premier League run to 17 games and, perhaps more importantly, we welcomed back our captain Cesc Fabregas and last season's top scorer Emmanuel Adebayor in style.
Cesc reminded us what we've all been missing with a midfield masterclass in passing and claimed both assists as our Togolese hitman also did his bit to re-stake his claim for a starting place with Arsene Wenger by clinically grabbing a brace in his first game since February.
So there are your first two contenders for Man of the Match. But the player who I think was head and shoulders above anyone else on the park was Denilson.
The young Brazilian has come on leaps and bounds this season, as Le Gaffer has shown tremendous faith in him by rewarding him with the most appearances of anyone in his first team squad - 41 in total so far.
Denilson just didn't put a foot wrong. He broke up what little play Citeh contrived to put together and then did the very simple thing of passing to another Arsenal player to set up wave after wave of attack.
Maybe having Fabregas back in midfield will help Denilson step up another level in his game play and the one element of his game that I'm most impressed with is his willingness to always find a yard of space to make himself available for the ball - something some of his older colleagues would do well to emulate.
But that's just my opinion. Other strong perfofmances on Saturday came from Alex Song and Theo Walcott, who showed great character to bounce back up every single time the Citeh players clattered into him.
As usual though, I'll leave it up to you lot as to whom you thought was Arsenal's Man of the Match on Saturday. Simply click on the 'read more' link below to access our poll and get voting.
