Arsenal's defensive set up is the major concern ahead of tomorrow's FA Cup semi final clash with Chelsea. With Gael Clichy, Johan Djourou and William Gallas definitely out and Bacary Sagna and Kieran Gibbs major doubts, Arsene Wenger has his work cut out in reshuffling his squad to counter the threat of the likes of Drogba, Anelka and Ballack.
Le Gaffer says he might opt to play Mikael Silvestre at left back and Alex Song in the centre alongside Kolo Toure, which I reckon is the lesser of two evils because otherwise it'll be Sagna on the left and Silvestre in the centre and I just am not convinced about the former Man United player's capabilities in that position.
Thankfully Emmanuel Eboue was fantastic in his old role at right back against Villarreal, so I don't think we have any need for concerns there, but with Arsene looking to rotate his squad to handle the packed schedule, his options in defence are extremely limited.
In midfield it's a different story. Everyone except forgotten man Tomas Rosicky is available and if we are going to keep tabs on Michael Essien, I think Abou Diaby is the man to do it, rather than Denilson.
So I'd set up the Gunners' midfield as Theo Walcott, Cesc Fabregas, Diaby and Andrey Arshavin with Denilson and Nasri on the bench as back up.
And up front I think it's the perfect chance to unleash Eduardo. Le Boss says he is still a little bit short, so I don't think he'll start the game, but perhaps bringing him on for Robin van Persie or Theo Walcott if we need him is a comforting thought.
As usual, share your thoughts on who you would choose as Arsenal's starting 11, but for the record, here's my selection:
Eboue Song Toure Silvestre
Walcott Fabregas Diaby Arshavin
COME ON YOU GUNNERS!!
