Play Fantasy Wenger: Which Arsenal 11 would you choose to face West Brom?

Johan Djourou will partner Kolo Toure in central defence at West Brom tonight after Arsene Wenger ruled that the ankle knock suffered by William Gallas deserves some rest for treatment.

“William is out because he has had an ankle problem for a while and we want to cure it,” said Le Gaffer, adding that the former skipper should be back in time for Sunday.

Elsewhere in defence, Wenger might also be tempted to replace Bacary Sagna with Emmanuel Eboue, as that switch was one of the more positive elements of Saturday’s goal-free clash with Fulham, while the improving form of Kieran Gibbs might also result in Gael Clichy being rested – or maybe it could give Gael some extra time to practise crossing the ball…

Unfortunately none of our injured players will make it into the squad for tonight’s trip to the Hawthorns, but Le Boss says that Theo Walcott, Eduardo and Emmanuel Adebayor might all be back in time for the Burnley FA Cup game on Sunday, while Cesc Fabregas and Tomas Rosicky will be back in action before the end of this month.

"Theo is good, he just needs to get used to contact in training, but it looks positive," reported Wenger. “Eduardo has a small chance to be back for Burnley, even [Emmanuel] Adebayor has a small chance, maybe Burnley will be too tight, but a small chance. Fabregas and Rosicky [will return in] three weeks."

With that in mind, I reckon tonight’s midfield should consist of Andrey Arshavin, Denilson, Abou Diaby and Samir Nasri, while up front the Robin van Persie and Nicklas Bendtner partnership will hopefully reap rewards for a change.
