I'm going to keep this very short and sweet as I feel the answer is a bit obvious, but after a commanding display against Blackburn on Saturday it would be remiss not to have a Man of the Match poll.
The most pleasing aspect from my point of view was the way in which Arsenal played. We're used to a downbeat performance immediately following a Champions League game, but Fat Sam and his team were given a lesson at Emirates on Saturday and thanks to the referee, who showed Blackburn he wouldn't tolerate their late challenges, Arsenal were allowed to play some of the flowing football we've all become used to in the Arsene Wenger era.
Nicklas Bendtner was the main culprit in squadering a bunch of chances that could have made the difference even greater than it was, while El-Hadji Diouf was extremely fortunate to remain on the park after a potential leg-breaking challenge on Manuel Almunia, but that aside Blackburn left very little mark on the encounter.
Whilst our big Dane struggles to find the right colour of boots to score with, I have to say I am impressed with the way he gets himself into scoring positions. If only he could deliver the end product.
Serial villain Emmanuel Eboue bagged two goals in just seven minutes on the park, which any other time would make him a candidate for the Man of the Match prize. Denilson and Song also enjoyed a good game in midfield, but I just can't see past Andrey Arshavin as our most important player on Saturday. The way in which he notched his first goal for the Gunners by smashing in a near post effort from the byline, was just superb.
