POLL: Who was Arsenal's Man of the Match against Cardiff?

To tell the truth, I don't know why I'm posting this poll online today, for there can be only one candidate for Man of the Match last night against Cardiff.

EDUARDO DA SILVA.

Our Crozilian superstar returned to first team action after 51 weeks on the sidelines only to mesmerise us with a world class performance. His two goals were no more than he deserved, but he stated his intentions early with a speculative lob on the turn from the half way line. Although that shot didn't trouble Cardiff keeper Tom Heaton (who was excellent last night), it showed that Dudu has returned with confidence after his year of injury hell.

One slight dampener was the fact that he left the pitch with a slight hamstring strain, but with any luck he'll be fit for Saturday's game against Sunderland, and if not, maybe next week's Champions League tie with Roma.

I've said it before and I'll say it again though: Eduardo's return could be the catalyst Arsenal need to go on and lift some silverware this season, as well as firing us back into the top four in the Premier League.

He wasn't the only player on the park, mind you. Nicklas Bendtner reminded us why he shouldn't be playing every minute of every game by scoring one goal but missing a number of other gilt edged chances.

Carlos Vela looked bright and seems to have a good understanding with Dudu. Robin van Persie hit the back of the net again with a clinical finish in the last minute and Denilson had a good solid game in midfield, where the Gunners dominated the game.

Oh, and a special mention to Amaury Bischoff who continued his progress by playing the final 15 minutes of the game and looked lively. The Portuguese youngster has also had a long road back to recovery and Arsene Wenger's gamble on him looks as if it might just pay off.

But I digress. Click on the 'read more' link below to access our Man of the Match poll. Oh and keep your fingers crossed that the man in question is fit for this weekend...
