Arsenal gained revenge on Hull at the weekend, following the Premiership newboys' shock win at the Emirates Stadium earlier in the season, but the Tigers hopefully will survive any relegation battle as unlike some other teams I could mention, I think they've added something to the league.
The Gunners were always in control of the match, apart from a short spell after City scored their equaliser and the home crowd spurred them on to try to find a second.
Thankfully Hull do not have someone with the capabilities of Robin van Persie, however, as the Dutch master was the key to each of Arsenal's three goals.
It was an RvP corner that found the head of Emmanuel Adebayor to break the deadlock on the half hour mark. Then the Dutchman fed a fantastic pass to Samir Nasri in the 83rd minute to give the visitors their lead back and it was assist number three that allowed substitute Nicklas Bendtner to make sure of the points three minutes later.
Personally I can't see anyone else getting a look in for Man of the Match as Robin was head and shoulders above everyone else on the pitch and if he can keep improving his form - and crucially remain fit - then the second half of the season could be very interesting indeed, especially with the likes of Eduardo close to making his first team return.
Special mention should be made of Nasri, who again looked sharp, while the midfield pairing of Denilson and Abou Diaby, although not spectacular, helped Arsenal control the game as they handled everything that Hull could throw at them.
Not much else to say, except that Le Gaffer finally seems to have a team which is capable of grinding out the results. The return of some our long-term absentees in the coming weeks should hopefully add some flair and spice up our run-in for the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup competitions.
