Play Fantasy Wenger: Who should start for Arsenal against Hull?

Arsenal travel to Hull’s KC Stadium for the first time tomorrow evening for a tricky away game in the Premier League.

Unfortunately there isn’t any positive news on the injury front, with Cesc Fabregas, Tomas Rosicky and Theo Walcott remaining on the long-term crock list and William Gallas and Mikael Silvestre out until next month at least.

Eduardo da Silva scored a hat-trick in a closed-door game for the Gunners during the week, but when quizzed about the Croatian international yesterday Arsene Wenger stated that he is still two or three weeks short of match fitness for a first team place. But that hints that we might see Dudu in the squad for the home game against West Ham on January 31.

With both of our most experiened centre backs on the sidelines, it seems certain that Le Gaffer will stick with Kolo Toure as captain, alongside Johan Djourou, with the usual pairing of Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy at right and left back.

Abou Diaby’s indifferent showing against Bolton again had us Gooners questioning whether he’ll ever be consistent enough to hold down a regular spot and I’d personally like to see Aaron Ramsey given a start against Hull rather than Diaby, given the younster’s impressive appearance off the bench against Bolton last week and his strong performance in the FA Cup against Plymouth.

Elsewhere in midfield we’ll probably see Emmanuel Eboue and Samir Nasri, although it must be tempting for Wenger to start Carlos Vela in the supporting midfielder/striker role after his scintilating play recently.

Up front I can’t see Le Boss opting for anything other than Robin van Persie partnering Emmanuel Adebayor, but I wouldn’t be too surprised if he plays Adebayor as a lone striker and retains the likes of RvP and Nicklas Bendtner on the bench to bring on if the Arsenal haven’t forged a lead by the hour mark.

As usual then, use our comments function below to choose your starting 11 for the trip to Hull. And should you wish to compare it to my selection, here you go:

Sagna Toure Djourou Clichy
Eboue Denilson Nasri Ramsey Vela
