As promised earlier, here's a video of reported Arsenal defensive midfield target Gokhan Inler.
The Swiss international currently plies his trade for Udinese, but the jungle drums are saying he might not be in Italy much longer courtesy of a £5 million buy-out clause in the contract that took him to Serie A from FC Zurich a year ago.
I'm sorry you can't get much of an idea about Inler's style of play from the footage, but it's the best there is out there, aside from a couple of strikes from distance for Udinese and a horror two-footed lunge he committed while he was still playing in the Swiss league.
However, what I can tell you about the 24-year-old is that he is known for his aggressive style of play (although if you've seen our video of fellow Gunner "target" Lorik Cana, Inler is a pussycat) and at 6 feet tall he'd be a pretty ideal replacement in Mathieu Flamini's old position.
Despite just one season in the Italian top flight, Inler was voted as one of Serie A's best immigrants this year and having seen his ability, during Euro 2008, to read the game and close down the opposition quickly, he might just be the man that Arsenal need to provide the right balance to counter the attacking style of Cesc Fabregas in the centre of the park.
As with Cana, I'd love to hear your opinions of Inler, especially comparing him with the like of Inler, Xabi Alonso, Gareth Barry, Yaya Toure and any other rumoured signing that Le Gaffer is supposedly making.
