VIDEO: Is Lorik 'Le Destructeur' Cana the missing link for Arsenal?

Intrigued by the growing speculation that Arsenal might submit a bid for Marseilles midfielder Lorik Cana, I thought I'd do a little digging for you fellow Addicts to run the rule over a player I know very little about.

What I did know about Lorik was gleaned from the player's Wickipedia page - he was born in Kosovo 25 years ago, but like his father before him opted to play his international football for Albania. He is 6 feet 1 inch tall (186 cm) and prior to signing for Marseilles three years ago, he played for Paris Saint Germain.

He took over the captain's armband at Marseilles last season and is adored by the club's fans and players alike for his no-nonsense style of play.

I say "no-nonsense" but a glimpse at the above video will tell you the full story. Nearly every team in the land has a player that the fans label 'Psycho' except the Gunners, but if Le Gaffer was to sign Le Destructeur, as Cana is known in France, we'd soon have an claimant to that particular moniker.

Now I'm not going to call him a dirty player, but he certainly gets stuck in and lets the opposition know he's about. Just how many cards he'd attract from referees is anyone's guess, but I reckon he'd be a shoe-in for beating Patrick Vieira in those stakes.

Feel free to alert your Gooner mates to this video, as I'd like to know your opinion of Cana. Personally, while I can see that Arsenal might benefit from a hard tackling player of his grit and determination, I can't help but think that he doesn't fit the Wenger criteria for beautiful  free-flowing football. But I have to confess that part of me would love to see this guy in an Arsenal shirt.

Let me know your thoughts and compare this footage with that above, featuring another potential target, Gokhan Inler.
