Play Fantasy Wenger: Who should start for Arsenal against Man City?

Arsenal travel to Manchester City’s Eastlands stadium tomorrow minus the suspended Cesc Fabregas and without the injured Theo Walcott (shoulder), Kolo Toure (calf), Emmanuel Eboue (knee) and Tomas Rosicky (leprosy, smallpox, decapitation, whatever).

Eduardo is close to a return as Arsene Wenger revealed he will resume full training with his first team colleagues next week. I can’t wait to see the Crozilian back in action, but it’s looking like it’ll be mid-December at the earliest before we see him getting anywhere near match fitness.

Le Gaffer will also break he habit of a lifetime by insisting that his players who had long-haul flights home from the midweek internationals join the squad in Manchester.

Emmanuel Adebayor arrived back yesterday from Togo’s 1-0 win over Rwanda, while Carlos Vela will have to make the trip to Manchester on his own this afternoon when he gets back from Mexico’s shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of Honduras. Mind you, Vela will be used to solo trips after his straight red for violent conduct in the Honduras game...

Anyway, the point of this exercise, as all familiar Addicts will know, is to name your starting Arsenal line-up for tomorrow afternoon - and if you feel like it, explain the reasons behind your selection.

In defence, I’d drop Whinging Willie Gallas for his badly timed blast at his Gunners colleagues and replace him with Johan Djourou (who I think is a better player anyway), to give us a back four of Sagna, Song, Djourou and Clichy.

In midfield I’d choose Diaby, Denilson, Nasri and Vela, while up front it has to be Adebayor and Van Persie.

I’d be pleasantly surprised if Wenger drops Gallas, but we can wait and see.
