Arsenal teenagers Kieran Gibbs, Aaron Ramsey, Carlos Vela and Theo Walcott are all in the squad for tonight’s game against Fenerbahce, while Arsene Wenger has been able to draft in Nicklas Bendtner and Johan Djourou after that duo recovered from injury.
The options of using Djourou and Gibbs will be welcome as first choice defenders Bacary Sagna, Kolo Toure and William Gallas are all injured and will likely be replaced by Emmanuel Eboue, Mikael Silvestre and Djourou, with Gael Clichy retaining his place.
In midfield Le Gaffer can choose from Ramsey, Walcott, Vela, Abou Diaby, Cesc Fabregas, Denilson, Samir Nasri and Alex Song in midfield, with my choice being to start with Walcott, Fabregas, Diaby and Nasri.
And upfront I doubt Wenger will change the Emmanuel Adebayor and Robin van Persie combination, although with Vela, Bendtner and Walcott also travelling his options there are pretty good too.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised though to see Adebayor acting as the lone marksman up front and RvP playing a little deeper as Arsenal get to grips with the Turkish team and their fanatical supporters.
The full squad is: Manuel Almunia, Lukasz Fabianski, Emmanuel Adebayor, Robin van Persie, Carlos Vela, Nicklas Bendtner, Aaron Ramsey, Abou Diaby, Theo Walcott, Cesc Fabregas, Denilson, Samir Nasri, Kieran Gibbs, Gael Clichy, Mikael Silvestre, Alex Song, Emmanuel Eboue and Johan Djourou.
As usual, feel free to share your ideas on who the starting line up would be by using our comments section below.
For the record, here’s who I’d go with:
Eboue Djourou Silvestre Clichy
Walcott Fabregas Diaby Nasri
